Summary

HR Generalist III


Location: Hybrid - Maryland

Schedule: 8am-5pm (flexible)

Reports To: HR DIRECTOR


What you'll do

The HR Generalist III will serve as a key member of the team, overseeing a broad spectrum of human resources functions including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, performance management, and policy development. This role requires a customer service driven individual with a strong tactical focus who thrives in an environment where they can build systems, improve processes, and influence culture from the ground up.


Day to day you’ll

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process to support rapid organizational growth.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual HR requirements
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to security unit employees and leadership on HR matters including performance, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with leadership to foster a strong company culture and effective internal communication.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records and HRIS data.
  • Support or lead initiatives related to employee engagement and organizational development.
  • Participate in audits and support security clearance documentation as required.
  • Evaluate and implement HR systems, tools, and vendors to support scalability.
  • Obtain developmental training on supported applications’ security administration functionality.


What you'll bring to the team


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred).


Required Work Experience & Qualifications

  • 4–7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally with at least 2 years supporting a government contractor or federal client organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and government contracting-specific requirements.
  • Experience standing up or significantly contributing to HR systems and programs in a startup or early-stage organization is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, build structure in ambiguity, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; demonstrates a strong sense of accountability; demonstrated customer service driven business partner


Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Familiarity with handling personnel security matters and incident reports


Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.

$72,000 annually $80,000 Annually
