Job Purpose

Our client is seeking a solicitor with 0-3 years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE) to join their well-established housing law department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied caseload, providing expert legal advice, and contributing to the continued success of the team.


Key Responsibilities


Case Management:

  • Handle a wide range of housing law cases, including homelessness reviews and appeals, possession claims, and disrepair claims.
  • Manage cases through the Legal Aid Portal (CCMS).


Client Care:

  • Provide high-quality legal advice and representation to clients.
  • Ensure excellent client care standards are met in all interactions.


Legal Expertise:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant housing law and legal procedures.
  • Draft legal documents, prepare cases, and conduct negotiations as required.


Team Collaboration:

  • Work effectively within the housing law department, supporting colleagues and contributing to team goals.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance personal and team skills.


Advocacy (Desirable):

  • Represent clients in court or tribunals, if required.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with 0-3 years PQE.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in housing law.
  • Experience with the Legal Aid Portal (CCMS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload independently.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of client care.


Desirable Attributes

  • Advocacy experience in housing law matters.
  • Familiarity with social housing law and tenant rights.
