The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for inspecting and maintaining the cleanliness and physical condition of the hotel guest rooms, meeting rooms, hallways and public areas.
1. Report any damage or problems with the guest room and room equipment using a Maintenance work order HotSos program and routing the work order to the Maintenance department.
2. Evaluate Room Attendants on their job performance according to the hotel 5 diamond 5 star standards. When necessary take appropriate action (retraining, written discipline, coaching, etc.) to ensure that their job performance is at a high quality level.
3. Communicate to the Front Desk and/or Housekeeping Office Attendant all vacant and clean rooms, the completion of guest requests, and room status discrepancies. Reception or Attendant will give the Supervisor all room moves, late check-outs, and additional guest requests for appropriate follow-up action by the Supervisor.
4. Close the Housekeeping day at the end of the shift such as: collecting the room cleaners assignment sheets and confirming the room status; confirming the work schedule with the room cleaners for the following day; collecting the room cleaners floor keys and securing them in the locked key cabinet; completing a written Housekeeping report of all the hotels guest room status for the Front Desk at the end of the shift; filing all daily report forms in the file cabinet; securing the Housekeeping office and locking the door when departing for the day.
5. Answer the Housekeeping departments telephone using friendly and proper telephone techniques. The Supervisor will help with special requests, information, and status of Lost & Found items when necessary.
6. Interact with the hotels guests in a friendly, positive manner as a solution to their needs and a solution to any of their problems. The Supervisor will often act as a liaison between the guest and the room attendant.
7. Prepare morning report with the status of all guest rooms at the beginning of the shift. This includes all guest requests, out of order rooms, and show rooms for the day.
8. Inspect all guest check-out rooms for cleanliness, appropriate guest amenities, and the correct working condition of all guest room equipment.
9. Report any substandard conditions of the guest room to the Housekeeping department and/or Manager.
10. Check the hotels PMS computer for information concerning room status and to enter updated room status.
