Job Summary

This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the shift activities of the nursing departments for providing quality patient care to all patient age groups. The House Supervisor facilitates and ensures the following of departmental policy and procedures for nursing care and keeps current in the latest trends/issues in the field of nursing. The House Supervisor supervises all hospital departments when immediate supervisor/director is unavailable.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for Supervising and coordinating the shift activities of the nursing departments for providing quality patient care in all patient age groups
  • Facilitates and ensures the adherence to departmental policy and procedures for nursing care
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Able to provide direct patient care as needed
  • Notifies the Department Director of all action taken and maintains accurate documentation of events
  • Reviews patient admission clinical information using clinical criteria and guidelines
  • Investigates patient concerns, complaints, and initiates response to these needs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program, prefer BS(N).
  • Current license in the state of Indiana.
  • Two year’s nursing experience required.
  • Prefer one year in a management/supervisory position.
  • ICCU/ER experience preferred.
  • CPR provider certification within 1 months of hire.
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation class within 6 months of hire.
  • PALS certification within one year of hire.
