Automotive Technician
Fat Fender Garage is looking for qualified technicians to add to their ever-growing team in pursuit of a new series of truck builds labeled "The Revival Series". As a Revival Series technician your job will consist of building/assembling restomod trucks in a modified assembly line fashion where you will see a new truck every 3 weeks.
Because of this faster paced environment technician's height of awareness and ability to perform assigned duties properly the first time is critical. Our perfect candidate would have experience in building/assembling hotrods in a professional environment with a vast knowledge of the parts and hardware required to assemble a complete vehicle. Knowledge in all systems or a specialization in a specific system is necessary. Systems would include steering, brakes, fuel and air delivery, 12V wiring, and drivability. This is a full-time and permanent role.

About Your Role
- Perform routine maintenance and review drivability concerns.
- Perform tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
- Identify mechanical problems either visually or through diagnostics.
- Test drive vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation.
- Provide timely communication with management and team members regarding the status and applicable needs.
- Examine critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have minimum of 5+ years' experience as Automotive/Truck / Hot Rod Technician.
- A plus having Vocational/Technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- Physical Requirements for Automotive Technician/Mechanic.
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair.
- Knowledge and understanding of Vintage Trucks, Hot Rod, Automotive industry required.
- Excellent mechanical repair skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment, flow charts, and software.
- Ability to work well independently or in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Good organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Providing own tools and transportation are a must.
Previous experience with our proven parts log consisting of Wilwood Brakes, Restomod AC, Flaming River, Dakota Digita; Currie Rear Ends, etc would be a plus
- Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting.
- Be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Safely operates a motor vehicle.
