The hostess is a personal representation of the service and overall hospitality of the staff at Wayfare Tavern. While guests are waiting to be seated or waiting for take-out orders to be ready, it is the hostess’s role to make guests feel welcome, comfortable, and informed about their wait times.
Responsibilities
Monitor the open dining sections for empty and cleaned tables
Estimate accurate wait times and manage the guest waiting list
Ensure guest needs are met while they wait
Answer incoming calls and manage reservations via OpenTable
Move tables and seating arrangements to accommodate larger parties when needed
Required Skills
Strong customer service focus
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage stress and stay composed under pressure
Skilled at multi-tasking in a busy environment
Familiarity with OpenTable reservation system
Clear and friendly verbal communication, both in-person and over the phone
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for the entire shift
Ability to seat guests in second-floor dining rooms via stairs
Frequent reaching and bending
Ability to carry up to a 20-lb. highchair
