Hello. We are a restaurant seeking restaurant hosts as well as food runner/busser to become an integral part of our team! We can accommodate part-time and full-time applicants at this time. We are looking for people who can work 3-5 days a week.
We are a modern Japanese restaurant that opened in January 2020. Fish & Bird Sousaku Izakaya, is an authentic Japanese restaurant with modern and California flair. Our executive chef is trained in Japanese and French cuisine. We also have an amazing trained sushi chef who has years of experience in working with fish the right way. We are serving true Japanese food as that's what we grew up with in Japan, and we feel the level of Japanese cuisine here needs to be better than it is now. Our chefs and I want to work with and train the right people who are interested in learning about the intricacy of Japanese cuisine, how it's prepared and served. Responsibilities For Host
Work with reservation system we currently have as well as POS on as needed basis
Serve food and beverages to guests
Answer phones and call customers for reservation as well as questions
Explain to guests about menu items
Clean and prepare the dining areas
Greet and make all guests feel welcome at the restaurant
Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely fashion
Perform other restaurant duties as assigned

Qualifications For All The Positions
Previous experience in customer service, food service, or other related fields are helpful
Ability to build rapport with guests
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Willing to work hard as a part of the team
Have the attitude of learning the true modern Japanese cuisine
Be caring of customers, co-workers and people around you
Have no job is too small attitude -- you will be asked to clean in addition to the cooking, serving, learning, etc.
Always stay busy -- if the restaurant is slow, then we need to be polishing glasses, silverware, etc. There will not be idle time.
Stay safe during this pandemic with masks and other safety protocol
Be able to lift 50 lbs
Be eligible to work in the U.S.
