As the HIM Hospital Coding Manager, you will oversee hospital coding and revenue cycle activities. Reporting directly to the Director of Health Information Management, you will lead a team of dedicated professionals, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in coding and charge capture.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management (or related field)
• Certifications (Required): CCS, RHIT, or RHIA from AHIMA
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of hospital coding supervisory experience
• Expertise in: ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT coding, Epic, 3M, and federal/state billing regulations
• Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, data analysis, and communication abilities

• Oversee daily coding operations, ensuring adherence to compliance guidelines and coding best practices
• Manage vendor relationships for outsourced coding and billing services
• Optimize Epic & 3M workflows, leading system upgrades, testing, and enhancements
• Lead coding for trauma, emergency, obstetrics, and diagnostic services, ensuring all charges are accurately captured
• Investigate & resolve coding discrepancies, appeals, and denials
