Summary
A Vacancy at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We are currently seeking a Senior Occupational therapist to lead our medical occupational therapy team. This team covers the medical wards including the liver and gastro-intestinal ward, endocrine ward and acute frailty unit.
You will work alongside an integrated MDT to support timely discharge for patients with long term conditions and complex health needs.
Part of your role will be to lead in the effective delivery of the enhanced weekend therapy service.
You will supervise and support junior members of the occupational therapy team.

The post holder provides specialist acute Occupational Therapy input and advice in relation to the care of patients on the medicine wards (endocrine, gastro-intestinal and liver specialties) and the acute frailty unit who have a range of psycho-social, physical and emotional problems including long term conditions.
The post holder is responsible for the operational management of the medical occupational therapy team working closely with the medical band 7 physiotherapist to ensure an effective and efficient service.
The post holder is responsible for supervising junior members of the occupational therapy team as well as non -registered team members and OT students/apprentices.
The post holder participates in service development and clinical audit supported by the Principal OT- Senior Health, Medicine and Specialist Medicine.
The post holder participates in 7 day working across the Trust supporting effective and timely discharge on the medicine and senior health wards.
The role offers the opportunity to initiate and participate in evidence-based projects, including recommendations for change in practice.
