Supports operations by inspecting, repairing, replacing and maintaining all heavy equipment. Locates sources of problems by inspecting, observing as well as component and position knowledge and completes needed repairs in a timely, safe manner.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics to determine issues with equipment
Comply with all safety practices and follow company procedures
Replace parts as well as overhaul and test major components, such as engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment and components
Maintain sanitation and housekeeping in work area
Ability to work overtime during the week or on weekends.
Additional duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Able to read, write and perform basic math.
Resourceful, well organized, and dependable.
High School or Equivalent
5 years heavy equipment mechanic experience
Physical Demands/Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk with alternate standing. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to the outside elements, including a dry, sometimes dusty environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
