About The Role

The Heat Exchanger Manufacturing Process Development Engineer is part of the World Head Quarters Carrier Central Engineering organization, that works globally with all Carrier entities. The candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing & implementing state-of-art, cost effective, robust, and reliable manufacturing & assembly technology for current heat exchanger designs and advanced heat exchanger technologies for Carrier Corporation. This position will be a key member of a core R&D team who will work closely with divisional engineering, R&D groups, and other internal and external key partners to prove feasibility, develop, specify, and implement improved tools, equipment & technologies.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Benchmark, develop, validate, and implement the best heat exchanger fabrication processes parameters by leveraging internal and external capabilities and resources.
  • Develop standard work, best practices, procedures, and equipment specifications, working closely with Business Units, suppliers, and Carrier’s R&D groups.
  • Design, specify, qualify, and implement new fabrication/manufacturing processes including machine design and fabrication both internal to Carrier and externally with suppliers.
  • Demonstrate new equipment and new processes capabilities using statistical process control and production qualification methods and tools

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering
  • 10+ years of Industrial and/or Mechanical experience in Production or Manufacturing of consumer products, which includes 3+ years of production, fabrication, and manufacturing operations
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsoring available

Preferred Qualifications

  • Travel up to 25% of the time, depending on specific workload
  • Automation experience desired
  • The ideal candidate should be able to design, prototype, develop and qualify improved or new coil shop processes for introduction into HVAC&R products.
  • Hands-on and can-do, self-motivated individual, capable of communicating with all levels of the organization, especially with factory production resources.
  • Familiarity with production systems and related machinery and processes typical in the consumer product industry are a must.
  • Specific hands-on high volume manufacturing processes experience a plus (machining, bulk deformation, welding, joining, brazing, etc.).
  • Strong in fundamentals of Statistical Process Control for production and statistical calculations for production environments; understanding and use of manufacturing tolerances.
  • Knowledge of Design of Experiment (DE) techniques, and ability to design and execute them.
  • Willing and able to travel nationally and internationally in support of various manufacturing programs for Carrier.
  • Good communication, project presentation and organization skills Computer proficient including 3D CAD

Pay Range

$90,263 - $157,959 Annually
