The Position
Health Program Specialists plan, develop, implement and evaluate health services and activities; develop goals, objectives, program requirements and procedures; provide technical information regarding specialized health related conditions; and participate and provide support to various committees, advisory boards and other work groups.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health; Bureau of Behavioral Health Wellness and Prevention is recruiting for a Health Program Specialist 2, located in Carson City. Duties are related to one or more specialized health programs which operate on a statewide basis and focus on prevention, early detection, treatment, education and tracking of data relevant to mental health services within the general population. The incumbent will be overseeing and managing mental health federal grants and community based subgrants.
