All about the role:

We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our team as the Head of Software Development Center. This strategic role is crucial as we establish our Tech-Hub, a competency and development center in Bangalore, India. The successful candidate will oversee and lead our software delivery operations, playing a vital role in recruitment and office setup.

About the CDI Experience Organization:

The Consumer Direct Interaction Experience Organization is a Digital Product Organization responsible for delivering tech solutions to our end-users and consumers across both pre-purchase and post-purchase journeys. We are organized in 15+ digital product areas, providing solutions ranging from Contact Center, E-commerce, Marketing, and Identity to AI. You will play a key role in ensuring the right sizing, right skillset, and core competency across these product areas.

What you’ll do:

  • Recruitment: Lead recruitment efforts for developers, engineers, and other key roles. Manage mass recruitment for various competencies and skill sets, including AI, E-commerce, CRM, SRE, and cloud-native in Azure/AWS, as well as .NET, Java, front-end, and back-end development skills.
  • Training & Development: Develop and implement training programs to ensure the continuous development of the team. Foster a culture of learning and growth within the software development center.
  • General Administration: Oversee the general administration of the office, ensuring smooth operations and a productive work environment.
  • Liaison: Act as the primary liaison with internal Electrolux entities and local agencies or organizations. Ensure effective communication and collaboration between the Bangalore office and the Stockholm-based digital product organization.
  • HR Process Setup: Support the setup of HR processes for the new software development center. Establish policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Leadership: Provide strong leadership and direction to the team. Build and scale the development center, ensuring it meets the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Delivery & Release: Oversee the delivery and release of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet the required standards.
  • Project Oversight: Monitor and manage ongoing projects, ensuring they align with the organization's objectives and deliverables.
  • Outsourcing Collaboration: Work closely with our outsourcing partner based in Bangalore to ensure seamless collaboration and integration of efforts.
  • Product & Engineering: Ensure regular feedback from Engineering and Product Managers is translated into actionable steps.

Who are you:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the software industry with prior experience as a people leader.
  • Proven experience in program management or software product and/or engineering.
  • Proven experience in building and scaling a development center within a product or service organization.
  • Proven experience working in a digital product organization.
  • Strong background in delivering software programs on a global scale.
  • Strong background in software development, recruitment of developers and engineers, and core competencies in testing, architecture, and the software development life cycle in an enterprise context.
  • Preference and benefit if you have some years of prior work experience in Europe or the Americas.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

About The Tech-Hub

The team at the Bangalore Tech-Hub will be an integral part of the engineering organization based in Stockholm. The functional and competency leaders for the various groups that we will recruit in the Tech-Hub are based in Stockholm, Sweden. This role will be pivotal to ensure local leadership closer to the team members in India and ensure a seamless integration with the overall company culture. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
