Job description/specification
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Purchasing and Logistics to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing and logistics operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of technology products, and maintaining the highest standards of business ethics and honesty.
This position is based in the city of Maia in Portugal.
Key responsibilities
Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies for technology products;
Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to secure the best terms and pricing;
Oversee logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory management;
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in the different locations;
Analyze market trends to anticipate changes in supply and demand and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly;
Collaborate with other departments to understand their product needs and provide support;
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data;
Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance and address any issues promptly;
Optimize the supply chain to reduce costs and improve efficiency;
People Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Main Requisites

Technology Product Expertise: Proven experience in purchasing technology products, with a strong knowledge of the market and supplier landscape;
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, market trends, and financial reports to make informed purchasing decisions;
Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers;
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with suppliers, team members, and other stakeholders;
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously;
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently;
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and build positive working relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field;
Minimum of 8 years of experience in purchasing and logistics, preferably in the technology sector;
Fluent in English.
