The Role: As the Head of Product you will join our Industrial Process Heating (IPH) Division and lead the management of our core products across our Chromalox and Vulcanic brands. Reporting to the Divisional Director for IPH, this role will be responsible for innovation (R&D), new product development (NPD), and the product life cycle management of our portfolio (PLM) to internally maximize profitability and externally maximize customer value. This will be accomplished as directed by our Engineering Premium Solutions dual brand strategy within the context of the broader market ecosystem and competition. Working closely with the Business Development, Engineering, and Sales, the Head of Product will continually refine product vision, develop game-changing technologies, implement strategic prioritization of new products/projects, and communicate effectively to all stakeholders. Your Responsibilities: Product Lifecycle Management: * Lead management of our core products throughout the lifecycle including identifying, advocating, and prioritizing value-adding enhancements/add-ons/upgrades, revising related marketing efforts, resolving customer satisfaction issues, monitoring, and responding to competitive threats, and addressing obsolescence. * Work closely with product management team to set and execute on goals and objectives that accelerate value to market. * Work closely with marketing, sales, and business development teams to understand the market, developing and refining customer personas, use cases, and customer needs to better drive product enhancements and build product pipeline. * Facilitate communication across key stakeholders to enable effective teamwork and more informed decision making when prioritizing projects. * Deeply understand the needs of electric heating and controls solutions in industrial process sectors. * Own processes that support product life cycle management, including new product development, project management, voice of customer, strategic pricing, and product portfolio management. * Work with business and new product development teams to develop clear, concise, and compelling product positioning and messaging. * Enable sales, application engineering and customer service organizations to effectively understand and articulate the value of Chromalox and Vulcanic offerings by disseminating product information. * Create and manage tools that enable product selection, value-based pricing, and ensuring that internal and external customers have easy access to product specifications and pricing. * Establish and own analytical reporting tools to track KPIs. * Develop and implement a robust lifecycle and end-of-life product management process that delivers optimal results for the business. * Provide operations support on maintaining third-party certifications. R&D/New Product Development: * Implement the company's global long term strategic vision to be a market leader by creating superior value through technology innovation and product development. * Define and establish internal engineering standards, set organization-wide engineering goals, and direct engineering projects. * Actively involved in the development of new offerings. * Manage multiple development engineering teams and functional teams to ensure complete solutions are developed. * Tracks company vitality index. * Serves as a resource on projects requiring advanced knowledge of a particular field of specialization and assists the teams in finding elegant solutions to difficult and unique problems. * Collaborate with Business Development, Sales, and customer to ensure voice-of-customer and customer value proposition is fully understood to create customer success. * Responsible for setting and meeting engineering budgets by managing head count and expenses. Develops and plans for future growth. * Collaborate with other ETS and Spirax Group R&D divisions and manage synergistic design development projects. * Manage development project priority based on current resource capacities and company prioritization. * Collaborate with Operations to ensure transition to a sustainable manufacturing process. * Facilitate projects involving new manufacturing technologies and/or process that can be unique differentiators/advantages for the company, and which support the premium solutions being developed. * Identify and protect company intellectual property, apply for global patents as needed. * Proactive thought leader to both internal and external audiences with item such as training, economic case studies, white papers, and value propositions. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering or equivalent experience; MBA preferred. * 10+ years of Product Management experience in a related industry; Proven track record of leading product team through lifecycle. * Experience working with manufactured products in industrial and commercial markets globally. * Demonstrated experience planning projects and setting priorities. Proficient at identifying new growth markets, recognizing market trends, and developing and executing tactical plans. * Able to effectively manage complex projects and execute the plan on time and on/under budget. * Demonstrates ability to be flexible and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Able to work well with diverse groups and cultures and to participate on cross-functional teams to meet goals and objectives. * Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Teams Word, Excel, Power Point, etc). * Travel: Available when needed to travel, both U.S. and International.
