SALARY: LKR 600,000 – 800,000 (Gross)


OVERVIEW:

Our client, a leading player in the industrial manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Senior General Manager – Operations to oversee and drive operational excellence across multiple manufacturing sites. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight, strong leadership, and hands-on experience in managing large-scale operations within sectors such as cement, fertilizer, steel, tire, and rubber.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead end-to-end plant operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and safety standards are met
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to support organizational goals
  • Oversee supply chain, logistics, and inventory management to optimize cost and delivery timelines
  • Manage cross-functional teams and promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards
  • Utilize SAP or similar ERP systems to streamline processes and monitor performance
  • Prepare and manage budgets, reports, and KPIs to assess and enhance operational performance
  • Liaise with senior leadership and stakeholders to align operations with business objectives


PRE-REQUISITES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in operations or supply chain management within the industrial manufacturing sector (cement, fertilizer, steel, tire, rubber, etc.)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in driving operational efficiency and process improvement
  • Experience with SAP systems is a strong advantage
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
