Position Summary

Meritain Health, an Aetna Company, is a third-party administrator (TPA) primarily serving self-funded employers. We are one of the nation’s largest administrators of health benefits. Meritain Health offers the resources of a national carrier and the unmatched flexibility and service of an independent, local administrator and includes our Pharmacy Benefits Manager.

Meritain Health is recruiting a Head of National Accounts (Executive Director) who will develop and manage a team that carries out processes for sales, account management, and business retention. This leader will establish policies and programs in sales, account management, and business retention for products and services in support of profitable growth and organizational objectives.

You'll Make An Impact By

  • Leading the teams in developing and executing strategies to achieve target client satisfaction results. Taking accountability for results including internal collaboration to drive change necessary to address client needs.
  • Leading the National Accounts Client Management team to develop strategies for growing and retaining existing relationships with current clients.
  • Leading the department through business development strategies and prioritization exercises to develop the skills of the team.
  • Recruiting, attracting, and retaining a diverse workforce. Engaging and developing them through mentoring, coaching, and making available tools and resources.
  • Implementing goals and objectives to motivate the team to achieve workplace goals and encouraging high performance through performance management.
  • Developing strategies for sales objectives, sales approaches and structure, including territory definition.
  • Delivering designs for monthly and quarterly sales volumes for each market and identifies where improvements can be made.
  • Developing a sales pipeline, generating repeat business from successful leadership of projects and delivering an assigned annual sales target.
  • Defining programs that monitor market and competitor activity and working with marketing and product management teams to communicate customer needs.
  • Advising on organization standards for consultative one-on-one and small group onsite meetings to educate prospective members on services and products.
  • Communicating and working collaboratively with Marketing and Inside sales teams to ensure effective sales activity generation.
  • Creating and enhancing important high-level corporate customer relationships and continuously identifying new opportunities for key partnerships.
  • Partnering with cross-functional team and represents sales to ensure internal and external constituent needs are met.
  • Removing organizational barriers that impact the cross-functional work required to achieve results.
  • Partnering with operational teams on execution expectations.
  • Possessing the experience, credibility, and demeanor to interact with individuals at the highest levels of client organizations and internally.
  • Supporting CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve.

Required Qualifications

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:

  • 10+ years of sales and account management experience with demonstrated leadership in sales strategy development and execution, accountability, and innovative sales approaches.
  • Direct and broker sales experience.
  • Demonstrated track record highlighting leadership skills, ability, and willingness to plan and achieve colleague success.
  • Deep understanding of health plan, payor marketplace, program development and client management.
  • Proven financial acumen, and ability to set strategic direction to achieve budget goals and financial targets.
  • Demonstrated action and problem-solving orientation.
  • Experience with products, client management and operations with the ability to solve complex problems with people in other functional organizations.
  • Experience navigating through large-scale organizations and brokering alignment through indirect influence.
  • Ability to develop structured problem-solving skills to identify root cause of issues and develop recommendations for resolution.
  • Experience prioritizing competing objectives, meeting deadlines, and effectively communicating updates.
  • Ability to deal effectively with multiple internal and external clients.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse workforce and cross functional groups.
  • This is a remote opportunity that can be located anywhere in the US. with the ability to travel up to 40%.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Pay Range

The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is

$120,800.00 - $265,914.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
