About the Team: We are seeking a seasoned Head of Engineering, Search & AI based in NY to lead our AI-powered search efforts during a period of rapid growth and innovation. This is a critical leadership position reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Engineering, overseeing and expanding a team of 100+ engineers and shaping the technical direction of our next-generation search and generative AI experiences. About the Role: * Lead and scale the engineering organization focused on AI-powered search and infrastructure. * Drive the successful integration and application of Generative AI technologies in both product experiences and the software development lifecycle (SDLC). * Partner closely with Product, Data Science, and Design to define and deliver the next generation of intelligent search experiences. * Hire, develop, and retain exceptional engineering talentAssess and guide architectural and technical decisions, ensuring sound design and operational excellence at scale. * Serve as a cultural leader, fostering engineering rigor, curiosity, and continuous innovation. * Establish a high bar for communication, collaboration, and cross-functional alignment. * Help steer the organization through high-growth stages, ensuring scalability, performance, and agility. Who You Are: * 15+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in a Sr. Director or VP-level role leading large-scale teams. * Proven success in attracting, hiring, and retaining top engineering talent in a competitive market. * Strong track record of applying GenAI or NLP/ML technologies into real-world products and engineering workflows. * Experience delivering AI-powered search or discovery platforms at scale. * Has worked at a large SaaS company during a period of high growth. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (required); an advanced degree is a plus. * Strong technical acumen; comfortable evaluating system design, architecture, and scalability. * Excellent communication and executive presence; can influence up, down, and across the organization. * Based in New York, NY or willing to relocate.
