As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a team of 20~40 engineers, including three experienced Engineering Leads who report directly to you. You’ll define and drive technical strategy, lead complex system design efforts, and set the engineering culture for a high-performance team, and help the engineering leaders level-up. This is a highly hands-on leadership role: you’re expected to be deeply technical, capable of contributing to architecture reviews and writing production-quality code when needed.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and scale an engineering team with at least three direct reports (Engineering Leaders)
Set the technical vision and oversee system architecture, design, and implementation of frontend, backend and infrastructure systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product team, research team, and design team to deliver scalable and reliable systems
Attend key customer meetings
Stay close to the codebase – actively participate in architecture discussions, conduct design and code reviews, and contribute code when appropriate
Foster a high-performance engineering culture grounded in ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement
Drive hiring, onboarding, and career development for engineers across the team
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience leading and scaling frontend, backend and infrastructure engineering teams, ideally in fast-paced startup or high-growth environments
Strong systems design skills with hands-on experience building distributed systems, cloud-native infrastructure, or performance-critical backend systems
Technical expertise in at least 2 of our core backend programming languages (Go, C++, Python, Rust)
Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and modern DevOps practices
Excellent leadership and communication skills with a track record of growing high-performing teams
A builder mindset: pragmatic, low-ego, and deeply collaborative
Experience working on developer tools, infrastructure platforms, or AI/ML systems
Nice to Have
Exposure to security, networking, or large-scale AI training/inference data systems
Previous experience as a founding or early-stage technical leader
