Head of Engineering

Brooklyn (in office 5x week)

$200-250k base + equity

FutureTech Recruitment is partnered with a FinTech startup based in Brooklyn. Their platform integrates investing, education, and tax advisory, guiding clients through the entire tax journey—from strategy and implementation to services and filing. They’re actively looking for a Head of Engineering who can be hands-on with coding.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a talented engineering team
• Remain hands-on in the code while guiding overall architecture and technical strategy
• Collaborate closely with founders and product leaders to shape the roadmap and make key strategic decisions
• Cultivate a high-performance engineering culture focused on accountability, speed, and craftsmanship
• Drive hiring, onboarding, and team development as the organisation scales

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams at high-growth startups.
• Strong technical background with the ability to stay hands-on with code and architecture.
• Track record of building high-performing teams and fostering strong engineering culture.
• Effective collaborator with product and executive teams on roadmap and strategy.
• Passion for fintech and enthusiasm for fast-paced, product-driven environments.
