We help leaders in medical, scientific, and technical industries use emerging technology to transform the way they engage, train, and explain complex science to providers and patients. Inspired by games, we create immersive and interactive experiences for VR/AR, mobile, desktop, and web—transforming education and engagement through purposeful play.


Located in the heart of downtown Durham, NC, our office at the historic American Tobacco Campus is a short walk from world-class dining and entertainment venues including the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, and the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC).


ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Head of Delivery to lead our creative and project management teams. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, coaching, and growing a high-performance delivery function that ships client projects on-time and on-budget. In addition to ensuring consistently high standards of execution, you will lead by example as a champion of Delivery-Led Growth, actively identifying and organically developing new opportunities to expand services and bring additional value to existing customers. Ultimately, your mandate will be to cultivate a culture where excellence, craftsmanship, efficiency, and growth are everyone's responsibility.


Please note this is a hybrid position requiring three days of in-office work per week in Durham, NC, and two days work-from-home.  



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Delivery Teams (70%):

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of project managers and creative professionals, ensuring consistent delivery of quality projects on time and within scope
  • Build and maintain a high performance delivery culture through hiring, performance management, and coaching of junior and senior staff
  • Troubleshoot bottlenecks in production workflows and make real-time decisions to keep projects moving
  • Implement systems that reinforce consistent quality delivery as the foundation for business growth
  • Foster a culture of craftsmanship, professionalism, and continuous improvement throughout the delivery organization


Grow Strategic Accounts (30%):

  • Support revenue goals by expanding major accounts and identifying high potential client relationships for further development and elevation to key account status
  • Build and maintain executive level relationships with clients, proactively identifying and pursuing opportunities for service expansion and upsell
  • Partner with sales and senior leadership to develop account growth strategies that align delivery excellence with company growth objectives
  • Champion a mindset where account growth is seen as everyone's responsibility
  • Create feedback loops that connect client satisfaction directly to team recognition
  • Proactively lay the groundwork for and develop future opportunities throughout the course of the project lifecycle


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: 

  • 5+ years of relevant team leadership experience
  • Proven track record of managing and growing high performing teams in busy production environments, such as web development, custom app development, or creative agencies
  • Demonstrated success in expanding key client relationships
  • Passion for new and emerging technology
  • Experience with both waterfall and agile project management methodologies
  • Natural leader with strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate and lead colleagues with diverse work styles and skill sets 
  • Ability to inspire and direct technical talent without needing to match their technical depth
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented, with a positive outlook
