Role OverviewAs the PCF-52 and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), you will be responsible for overseeing Alchelyst’s compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) regulations and Financial Crime ensuring that we adhere to the regulatory requirements set by the Central Bank of Ireland and industry best practices. This role is critical to safeguarding the integrity of the firm’s operations and to maintaining trust with both our clients and regulators.
Core Responsibilities1. Compliance Oversight
- Design and enforce AML frameworks for the firm, ensuring adherence to FATCA/CRS, local regulations, and group policies.
- Conduct periodic reviews of investor profiles and fund structures to mitigate risks.
- Oversee KYC/CDD processes for investor onboarding and ongoing monitoring.
- Monitor and investigate suspicious transactions and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and Revenue as required.
- Liaise with the Central Bank of Ireland, FIU, Revenue and regulatory bodies in relation to AML/CTF-related matters as they pertain to the firm.
- Oversee the firms Sanction & Negative media Screening process.
2. Risk Management
- Perform risk assessments for clients/investors and implement mitigation strategies.
- Develop AML desk procedures and ensure alignment with service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor regulatory filings to ensure statutory compliance deadlines are met.
3. Operational Leadership
- Manage anti-money laundering checks across fund operations, including all aspects of Investor transactions.
- Liaise with Clients, Investors and Key Stakeholders for operational due diligence and key meetings.
- Train staff on AML procedures, protocols and emerging regulatory requirement.
4. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as primary AML contact for fund managers, investors, and regulatory bodies.
- Resolve AML-related inquiries from Clients and Investors.
- Ensure transparent reporting to Investors and Clients regarding compliance status.
- Prepare and present AML/CTF compliance reports to both senior management and the Board of Alchelyst.
Key Skills & QualificationsIn-depth knowledge of AML directives (e.g., 5AMLD), Fund Anti-Money Laundering Regulations, and jurisdictional requirements. Experience with risk assessment methodologies and compliance tracking tools. Ability to articulate complex AML requirements to non-specialists. (e.g., Colleagues, Clients & Investors).
ACAMS certification or equivalent AML-focused qualifications preferred.
Typical Requirements- Mimumum of 5 years’ experience in fund administration with AML specialisation and Management experience.
- Demonstrated success in managing investor CDD processes for alternative investment funds.
- Technical competency with fund administration platforms (e.g., FIS ManTra / NTAS) and banking systems.
Approval RequirementThis role requires Central Bank of Ireland approval under the PCF regime, and the selected candidate must pass all relevant background assessments and checks.
