Working as part of a cross functional team alongside software, hardware and system test engineers, you will scope, specify and test coherent optical pluggable modules as part of Juniper's extensive portfolio of switches and routers. This will involve close interaction with internal and external partners.
- Develop purchase specifications for coherent optical products (primarily QSFP-DD and OSFP).
- Participate with suppliers on roadmaps, features and compliance to specifications.
- Develop test plans to verify and test against optical/electrical specifications.
- Review failed test results with supplier and drive compliance to specifications
- Interact with internal teams (Mechanical, System Engineering, HW/SW engineering) for coherent optics and router/switch system development.
- Participate in development of next generation coherent optics, > 800Gbps.
- Monitor standards activity to understand Juniper's needs and contribute when needed
- Develop technical specifications based on evolving standards
- Discuss technical tradeoffs on key design and component decisions
