Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Guidance Navigation and Controls (GNC) Engineer looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity. We need someone that is excited to solve challenging controls and localization problems using state-of-the-art techniques and develop simulations to prove controls designs! ASI is one of the fastest-growing robotics companies in the United States, and we're always looking for the best and brightest engineers to join us. As a GNC Engineer, you will be working with a team of engineers to implement and validate controls solutions on unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).
Duties And Responsibilities
Design and develop controls and localization algorithms for ground vehicles
Model mechanical and electrical systems to simulate derived controls solutions
Aid in the testing and debugging of implemented controls solutions
Document designs, analysis, and important results
Synthesize controls solutions to problems of interest to the company
Simulate mechanical, electrical, etc. systems to verify derived controls solutions
Advise and assist other engineers as needed
Assist in writing proposals that require controls solutions
Patent novel controls methods
Tune control systems on vehicles remotely and when physically present at customer and ASI facilities
Integration of controllers into vehicle control unit
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with an emphasis in Controls and Localization required
Experience in or willingness to learn:
State space control
Localization
State of the art controllers
Writing technical papers
Designing controls & localization algorithms
Writing proposals
PID tuning
MATLAB/Simulink and Python, C/C++
