About the role

We are currently seeking a Group Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis. You’ll be working in our Finance and Accounts team at our head office located in Mile End, with plenty of free onsite parking and a bus stop right out the front. 

You will be reporting to our Financial Controller, and the objective of the role is to provide accurate and timely accounting support and services to the X Convenience Group, which reports into bp Australia. 

Key responsibilities include:

·        Month End processing in accordance with the groups reporting timelines

·        Revenue and expense reconciliation and recognition

·        Review monthly financials to ensure accuracy

·        Government reporting including ATO and ABS

·        Complete reports and analysis on financial information as required

·        Bank and balance sheet reconciliations

·        Maintain fixed asset registers

·        Assist with the supervision and mentoring of the Finance and Accounts team

About you

We are looking for a reliable team player who brings a positive and respectful attitude to work and possesses the following skills / qualifications –

·        Bachelor of Commerce, along with CA or CPA membership (or nearly completed)

·        Experience in month end processing up to production of P&L and Balance Sheet

·        An eye for detail and high levels of accuracy

·        Organisational and verbal communication skills

·        Communicate effectively with good interpersonal skills

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook)
