Primary Purpose:
The Graphic Designer is responsible for leading and overseeing the visual design aspect of projects, taking written and spoken ideas and transforming them into images, layouts, and other designs. The position will collaborate with advisors and colleagues to understand design requirements, create compelling visual concepts and ensure consistency in branding. The role will create attractive designs for websites, brochures, presentations, social media, newsletters, and other marketing mediums.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Develop design projects from conception to delivery for corporate and advisor branding. Maintain and enforce brand consistency throughout marketing projects using corporate and client branding standards.
- Create relationships quickly with advisors to understand and deliver on their marketing and design needs, delivering a VIP customer experience.
- Design original pieces, including stationery, flyers, brochures, illustrations, infographics, power point presentations, and website layout.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure deliverables are approved, compliant and meet the criteria of the project including deadlines.
- Effectively communicate design concepts, presenting to all levels of the organization throughout all stages of design.
- Cultivate vendor relationship and manage on-time delivery of printed items.
- Refine images, fonts and layouts using graphic design software.
- Partner with marketing team to support company events and corporate or client projects.
- Commit to continuous education and professional development, staying current with industry trends and tools.
- Other special projects and duties as assigned within functional/knowledge area.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in design, visual arts, or related field, preferred.
- 7-10+ years’ experience as a designer, including working with web and digital solutions, required.
- Experience in the financial services industry, preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, required.
- Expert level proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Adobe XD, required.
- E-portfolio showcasing typography, design, and illustration expertise, preferred.
- Conceptual thinker with the ability to ideate and execute creative solutions quickly.
- Ability to work independently with a great eye for detail, demonstrate creative and innovative problem solving and effective time management.
- Ability to collaborate with advisors and departments throughout organization. Personable, approachable with a positive attitude in providing service excellence.
- Ability to perform under pressure on multiple priorities and projects simultaneously with high visibility in fast-paced environment.
- Strong design skills with the ability to flex between corporate and client branding and styles.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
