About This Role

Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. We are looking for a graphic designer to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of assets. As a graphic designer, you'll be able to help shape the visual aspects of our website, social media, sales materials, store signage, social media, and more. Your graphics must capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message.

To be successful as a graphic designer, you need to have an eye for detail, creative flair, and a strong ability to conceptualize verbal or written ideas into artistic designs.

Responsibilities

Outlined below is what we see you doing at this point in time. We are a fast-growing company looking for people that are excited to grow along with us.

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To

  • Creates and designs strategic marketing materials for the organization- on brand, on time and on-budget for multiple product brands and retail brands driving consistency and cohesiveness.
  • Included but not limited to: print ads, posters, sales materials, mock-ups, digital/website/banner ads, email templates, packaging, swag, billboard, in-store merchandising, brand guidelines and corporate material that are both internal facing and consumer facing.
  • Concepting- develop and execute creative concepts and designs that meet the creative brief.
  • Prepare final graphic files for production.
  • Produce photography and videography for use on above mentioned assets.
  • Ensures ideas, concepts and visual productions align with Marketing objectives.
  • Works closely with the sales and retail department to gather necessary information to provide support to sales for promotional and event materials.
  • Proofreads all designs to produce accurate and high-quality work.
  • Follows established design parameters and brand style guide.
  • Keeps informed of graphic design industry directions and trends with the ability to identify areas of impact within the company.
  • Assists with various ongoing Marketing projects within both the wholesale and retail side of the business.

The Experience You Bring And The Skills We Need

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Interactive Design, Marketing, Fine Arts, Advertising, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of graphic design experience in advertising agency or equivalent position.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate, communicate, and relate to people at all levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Project Management experience in high-volume environment required.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a great deal of creativity and originality.
  • Strong visual sense and a creative flair.
  • Self-directed individual who is a team player.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and presentation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Moderate level of cannabis product knowledge.
  • MS Office products; including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Proficient in Canva
  • Advanced proficiency in the following software:
  • Adobe Photoshop CC
  • Adobe Illustrator CC
  • Adobe InDesign CC
  • Adobe Bridge CC
  • Adobe Lightroom CC
  • Adobe Premiere CC
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • This is a dynamic team, and as such daily tasks may vary, resulting in a fast paced and lively work environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
