Summary

Position Title: Graphic Designer

Reports to: Creative Services Supervisor

Rate of Pay: $21.00

Position Purpose:

Plans, creates and produces a variety of graphic elements and designs to meet the objectives of internal and external customers. This is a seasonal temporary position not to exceed 122 days.

Essential Functions:

  • Create engaging and visually appealing designs for a range of marketing materials, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, banners, social media graphics, and website elements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Assists in creating admats (advertising materials) for the OC Fair entertainment team to help promote concerts and events during the OC Fair.
  • Utilizes available and current artwork, photos, illustration banks, fonts, typography guides and colors supplied by the Creative Services Department.
  • Determines the best design and methods to produce requested banners and signs.
  • Prepares layouts and graphic elements of the subjects to be created using current graphics software.
  • Works with Creative Services team to develop promotional materials for OC Fair & Event Center’s produced events (Imaginology and OC Fair).
  • Assists in trimming, mounting and installing signs/graphics when needed.
  • Assists in trimming, mounting and installing signs/graphics, and administrative tasks when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • 3+years of experience in graphic design
  • Strong concept of layout and design principles
  • Strong digital and print experience
  • Ability to work in a fast pace and production heavy environment
  • Must be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Must possess excellent customer service and organization skills
  • Ability to work effectively and enthusiastically as part of a team
  • Experience in successfully meeting deadlines
  • Experience working with large formats for banners and signs, as well as 4-color process printing necessary
  • Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs


Preferences:

  • Exceptional illustration skills
  • Knowledge of WordPress
