Short-Form Video Editor for Fantasy-Inspired Cat Content (TikTok, Reels, YT Shorts)

Merlin the Mysticat — A powerful wizard trapped in a kitten’s body, on a quest to reclaim his magic (and maybe a few snacks). Think: fantasy-core meets chaotic kitten energy with a side of magical mischief. Story-driven, meme-fluent, and made to enchant.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a creative short-form video editor who understands internet culture, can speak fluent millennial (with a splash of Gen Z) humor, and is obsessed with making content fun to watch. You’ll take raw footage and scripted beats and turn them into magical, engaging, and viral-ready videos.

This is a freelance/contractor role with potential to grow. Ideal for someone who’s chronically online, trend-savvy, and excited to help shape a new genre of fantasy-core pet content. There’s room to expand into scripting, concepting, and broader creative direction if we vibe well.

What You’ll Do:

● Edit 2–5 short-form videos per week (60–90 seconds)

● Use hooks, build-ups, and payos to keep viewers engaged

● Add fantasy-inspired transitions, spell-like eects, meme moments, and cinematic drama

● Use subtitles, sound design, and trending audios where relevant

● Bring your own creative flair to storytelling while staying true to the brand tone

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency of designs across various media outlets
• Create compelling and effective logos, designs, print and digital media
• Maintain awareness of current industry and technology standards, social media, competitive landscape and market trends

Qualifications

• Ideally bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field (not needed)
• 2-4 years of experience in graphic design
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
• After effects is a plus (not needed)
• Strong communication, conceptual thinking, typography skills and design skills
• Portfolio of work

Compensation:

Competitive pay. Payment will be based on a 40 hour work week. If you'd prefer part-time (20 hours instead), we can also accommodate for that.
