Summary

Franklin Pierce University (FPU) is seeking a Graduate Assistant (GA) for Student Programs & Support Services to assist in developing, implementing, and assessing programs that enhance student engagement, retention, and success. This position will assist in the planning, execution, and assessment of programs that create a sense of belonging and personal development. This position offers a unique opportunity for a graduate student to gain hands-on experience in student affairs while making a meaningful impact on student success.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in coordinating, planning, and executing first-year programming, STEP Days, Orientation, Fall Festival, and other major student events
  • Develop marketing materials and social media content to promote student programs and engagement opportunities.
  • Serve as a resource for students, connecting them to campus resources and support services.
  • Attend and contribute to Student Affairs staff meetings, retreats, and training sessions.
  • Partner with Student Affairs offices to develop collaborative programs and initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Candidate must be accepted to Franklin Pierce graduate school before GA application will be considered
  • 1-2 years of experience in student programming, leadership development, event planning, or student support services preferred
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse student populations, faculty, and staff.
  • Familiarity with event planning, program assessment, and student engagement strategies.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in student affairs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and digital communication tools

This is a 2-year position determined by program of study. Compensation includes a stipend and graduate tuition waiver. Expected to work 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday withflexibility for weekend and evening programs, as needed. Some travel within the campus or other area may be required for events.
