Our client, an established distributor of specialty chemical products, is currently seeking a Global Sourcing Manager to join their team.
This is a full-time permanent position requiring onsite work (hybrid schedule) in Blue Bell, PA.
The Global Sourcing Manager plays an integral role in all aspects of product procurement including developing strong supplier relationships and leveraging commodity expertise to source all products. Responsibilities in this role include overall supplier management for a variety of commodities, the establishment of pricing, lead-time, and other commercial terms. The Sourcing Manager will also be charged with seeking out opportunities to make the sourcing process more efficient. This is achieved through negotiating cost and developing agreements that ultimately drive the continued growth and profitability of the organization.
Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Negotiate pricing and purchasing of commodities from global and domestic vendors in support of inventory replenishment and customer contract requirements.
Execute Purchase Orders to meet material delivery requirements.
Be a subject matter expert in the Oleochemicals manufacturing process, feedstock dynamics, supply demand balances and global macro-economic equation. Utilize this expertise in your sourcing strategy considering key cost drivers including raw material sourcing, and supply chains.
Understand global sourcing process and schedule shipments in conjunction with that process.
Maintain and further enhance relationships with supply partners to sustain the reliability of the products supply and promote the sharing of market intelligence.
Develop and implement product strategies consistent with company's vision.
Collect and analyze feedback from suppliers, customers, stakeholders, and other teams to shape requirements, features, and products.
Work to develop new product sources and promote/support new products across various industry segments / SBUs.
Stay up to date with the latest trends in the oleochemicals industry.
Research and resolve non-conformance reports (NCR) relating to suppliers product quality, packaging, service or shipments timelines.
Adhere to the Supplier Qualification process when approving new vendors.
Track changes in key commodities and currencies and proactively update the CRM system and all related data files for education of internal stakeholders.
Proactively and regularly meet with internal partners seeking and delivering focused feedback on key accountabilities and deliverables.
Have a continuous improvement mindset by constantly uncovering, recommending, and implementing more efficient, effective work processes.
Required Experience
Minimum 10+ years experience in international procurement / sourcing preferably with a mid-sized Oleochemicals distributor or manufacturing company.
Bachelors Degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, or another related field preferred.
Proven work experience in managing work relationships with business partners across diverse international and domestic cultures.
Proven work or life experiences that demonstrate the ability to work well as a member of a team.
Excellent computer acumen in MS Office, enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, and contract management software (CRM).
The ability to influence and align others even when not in a position of authority.
Advanced interpersonal skills showing a high level of emotional intelligence.
Proven skills in price and commercial negotiations, domestic/international shipment management and vendor relationship building.
Must be highly organized and have the ability to multi-task under dynamic pressure situations.
