GLOBAL ACCOUNT DIRECTOR (San Francisco, CA). Job Summary: The Global Account Director is accountable for sales growth and customer acquisition within a defined portfolio of Global Accounts, based within the geographical business region. This role serves as the primary point of contact for Interface's large, global clients and is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to secure and optimize sales in the portfolio across each account's geographic area of activity. Job Duties: Develop and execute Account based plans, managing a personal account portfolio of 10-20 high potential accounts, and achieve growth and business goals; Act as 'Global Lead' on selected accounts within the portfolio, assuming overall responsibility for Account planning and execution across multiple regions; Lead strategy, preparation and submission of major bids and RFP's within the portfolio and support local sales; Work closely with sales management to maximize the successful execution of business in the portfolio through the local Account Executive team; Work collaboratively across the company to deliver a consistent value proposition to Global and Strategic Accounts; Lead the communication of the company's sustainability agenda within the account portfolio, working with client management and internal resources to drive the Interface vision; Formulate and communicate insights and market information in respect of Global and Strategic Account clients to senior management and key functional partners; Formulate and communicate analysis of competitive activity, performance and market share within the account portfolio for functional and business unit leadership; Contribute input to global customer and business information systems to ensure alignment with business needs, leading adoption locally; Lead and maintain the profile of the company with key stakeholder groups locally, such as industry bodies, Green Building organization, and key influencers; Comply with company policy and statutory rules in respect of safety, environment and employment; Other duties as reasonably defined by management; Prepare and give technical presentations explaining products to current and prospective customers; Create sales or service contracts for products or services; Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs to increase sales; Apply knowledge in the following products, equipment, and systems: 1. Product & equipment (tufting machines): Carpet and carpet construction to help facilitate product development and aesthetic requirements for a particular flooring application. Use knowledge of yarns, yarn construction and tufting technology; 2. Products, systems (industry certification like Green Label + (Carpet & Rug Institute)), WELL (Green Building Initiative), LEED (US Green Building Council): Flooring and flooring products that include products to lower carbon footprint of capital expenditure within a customer's real estate portfolio. This may include calculations of GWP (Global Warming Potential) through thorough understanding of embodied carbon and recycled content in carpet, LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) and rubber flooring; 3. Products and systems (ANSI or ASTM): Electrostatic dissipative and conductive flooring products for use in electrically and static-sensitive environments like data centers and equipment rooms; 7. Systems (ANSI, ASTM): Global understanding of building specifications and requirements--examples: a. Slip/fall and friction coefficients, b. Air quality and emissions, c. Acoustic properties and requirements, d. Disability provisions like ADA requirements for transitions, e. Materiality--avoiding PVC and finding alternatives, chemicals of concern, f. Walk off requirements from exterior to interior and plant/shop floor to offices, g. Maintenance procedures and techniques on different flooring types (carpet, LVT and rubber); 8. Product: Ability to read and understand architectural drawings (take offs). May work remotely/telecommute up to 50%. Salary: $143,832 - $200,000 per year. Location: San Francisco, CA. Requires: Bachelor's degree or Foreign Degree Equivalent in Business, Marketing or related field AND 4 years of experience within the commercial flooring, textiles, design or furniture industry with proven success of client acquisition in a repeat business environment, either services or product sales, and activation of those clients to generate the targeted revenue & margin returns. Requires experience in the following: 3 years of demonstrable track record of account development within a portfolio of large customers, across multiple locations and regions, growing volume and margins; 3 years of detailed account planning and management process and systems; 3 years of contributing to strategic direction and process improvement within a dynamic business development organization; 2 years of understanding current procurement practices such as e-bidding, reverse auctions, RFP's, tendering, with experience in leading and closing submissions in such situations; 3 years of working collaboratively (internal and external) to achieve goals and objectives utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills.
