Job Overview:

The Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for assessing and analyzing soil, rock, groundwater, and other conditions to determine their impact on construction projects. They design and implement solution for foundations, grade slabs, pavements, earthworks, and other geotechnical aspects, ensuring stability and safety of structures. Geotechnical Engineers work in both office and field settings, with site visits to condust investigations and monitor construction activities. They may work on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure developments.

Duties:

  • Conduct Geotechnical investigations: Perform field exploration, laboratory testing, and analysis to determine soil and rock properties.
  • Design foundations and earthworks: develop designs and foundations, retaining structures, and other earthworks.
  • Prepare technical reports: write detailed reports on findings, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Provide Technical support: Assist in the design and construction of infrastructure projects.
  • Project Management: Oversee Geotechnical projects, ensuring the are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with other engineers: work closely with civil, structural, and environmental engineers.

Education/ Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Experience 2 to 10 years of geotechnical experience.

Licenses:

  • Valid drivers license
