General Manager – New TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Seekonk, MA

Position Overview:

The General Manager (GM) will lead the opening and ongoing operations of the brand-new TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Seekonk, MA, scheduled to open in April 2026. The GM is responsible for driving operational success, building and mentoring a high-performing team, ensuring guest satisfaction, and achieving financial goals. This leadership role requires a hands-on operator.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Pre-Opening Leadership
  • Oversee all pre-opening activities including hiring, training, purchasing, and operational setup.
  • Serve as the liaison with Marriott support teams and ownership during the ramp-up period.
  1. Operational Leadership
  • Ensure brand compliance and operational excellence across all departments.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and service protocols.
  1. Team Management
  • Recruit, train, and retain an exceptional team.
  • Create a culture of accountability, growth, and teamwork.
  1. Guest Experience
  • Champion guest service initiatives to deliver a welcoming and consistent extended-stay experience.
  • Monitor and respond to guest feedback and online reviews.
  1. Financial Management
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and profit & loss statements.
  • Analyze key performance indicators and implement cost-control measures.
  1. Sales and Marketing
  • Collaborate with corporate sales and marketing to build awareness and drive occupancy.
  • Establish community partnerships and maintain visibility in the Seekonk market.
  1. Compliance and Safety
  • Maintain compliance with all Marriott, Darling Hospitality, and regulatory standards.
  • Prioritize safety for guests and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hospitality management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. General Manager experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with pre-opening hotels or extended-stay brands is a plus.
  • Strong financial acumen and operational insight.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with the Southeast Massachusetts or Rhode Island market is a plus.
  • Prior experience with Marriott systems preferred.
