The General Manager in Training position serves to develop future leaders and managers to help in achieving our goal of growing to 22 clubs in the greater Seattle area, we currently have four locations with more to open soon!
A General Manager in Training position is an opportunity to develop into a successful leader in the fitness industry. We are looking for individuals that value community, fitness, discipline, and excellence. A successful General Manager in Training is an impact team member that excels in service & production results, and demonstrates leadership abilities. You will work closely with your General Managers and District Managers to learn and develop all necessary skills for a successful career in leadership and management at Emerald City Athletics. This full-time role requires a minimum commitment of 45 hours per week, which can include weekends and some holidays. We are a performance driven company and this is the first step towards becoming a General Manager inside of ECA. This process can take 6-12 months.
Once a General Manager spot is earned, the General Managers get a base salary, commissions, bonuses and profit sharing bringing their pay from $100,000 - $150,000 per year.
Responsibilities:
● Prospect and Drive Guest Engagement to Generate New Leads: Actively engage
with potential members through various outreach methods to build membership base.
● Lead Tours for Prospects/Guests and sell ECA Memberships and Services:
Showcase the amenities and services of Emerald City Athletics in a personalized
manner to highlight the benefits of memberships, programs, and additional services..
● Handle Service-Based Appointments with Current Members: Manage and schedule
appointments to address the needs and concerns of existing members, ensuring high
satisfaction and retention.
● Maintain a Coachable Attitude and Focus on Finding Solutions: Be open to
feedback and continuously seek ways to improve processes and solve challenges.
● Manage Front House and Front Desk Operations: Oversee the front desk activities,
ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for all members and guests.
● Perform Daily Cleaning and Maintenance Tasks: Ensure that the facility is clean,
organized, and well-maintained, providing a pleasant environment for everyone.
Results:
● Commit to and Execute 5 Appointments Daily: Schedule and complete at least five
appointments each day, engaging with potential and current members.
● Complete Daily Prospecting and Outreach Strategies: Implement strategies for
reaching out to potential members and generating interest in the gym's offerings.
● Generate Three New Leads Each Day: Identify and secure at least three new leads
daily to expand the membership base.
● Achieve a 10% Enrollment Rate in Champions Training from Memberships Sold:
Ensure that at least 10% of new memberships include enrollment in Champions Training
programs.
● Achieve a 10% Enrollment Rate in Personal Training from Memberships Sold:
Similarly, aim for a 10% enrollment rate in personal training services from new
memberships.
Minimum Requirements:
● Fitness Industry Experience: Has experience working in a gym or the health/fitness
industry.
● Two Years of B2C Sales Experience: Demonstrated success in business-to-consumer
sales, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
● Ability to Stand for Extended Periods: Comfortable standing for long periods of time,
as the role involves significant interaction with members and potential clients.
● Capacity to Lift Up to 50 Pounds: Physically capable of handling equipment and
performing tasks that require lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
Compensation:
General Managers in Training at Emerald City Athletics are compensated through a
commission-based pay structure, with potential earnings ranging from $48,000 to $90,000 per year. This performance-based compensation model rewards dedication, skill, and success in achieving sales and operational goals, providing a substantial earning potential for motivated individuals.
