Summary

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time Gauge Calibration Technician II in San Diego, CA. This position supports U.S. Navy operations at Naval Base San Diego.

Job Summary: To provide Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) Management Support.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assists in the managing of the TMDE program in accordance with applicable references.
  • Utilizes the Metrology Bench Top (METBENCH) Calibration Management System (MCMS) for the scheduling and tracking of SWRMC TMDE calibration and inventory.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and recommendations to the calibration coordinators within the various SWRMC work centers, as specified.
  • Assists with the management of incoming and outgoing fleet TMDE in accordance with References NAVSEA OD 46508 & 2 SW395-AV-MMI-010.
  • Supports contractor personnel shall complete training required for NEC 1589 (Fleet Electronics Calibration (FECL) Technician) or NEC 6673 (Field Calibration Activity Technician (Electrical/Electronic) by completing SWRMC's Calibration Job Qualification Requirement (JQR) within six (6) months of providing direct support.
  • Provides support for calibration of aged, legacy aviation test equipment, to include a large number of discontinued items still in use by the aviation community that are over 30 years old.
  • Performs calibration and repair of calibrated equipment utilizing a wide variety of test equipment and tools. These calibration and repair actions shall meet all requirements of Reference SW395-AJ-MMO-0103.
  • Performs calibrations utilizing the METBENCH automated calibration system, as well as manual calibration actions not within the capabilities of the METBENCH system.
  • In cases where both automated and manual procedures exist, personnel shall obtain from the Laboratory Production Control Manager guidance as to which method to use.
  • Records all calibration and repair actions, manual and automated, utilizing MCMS in accordance with the guidelines set forth in Reference SW395-AJ-MMO-0103.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and guidance to active duty military calibration technicians in all areas, functions, and tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience
  • Ability to read schematics and blue prints
  • Ability to read technical manuals and repair standards
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed written instructions, MRC cards or drawings
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Holds NEC 1589 or 6673 qualifications

Pay Range

The pay range for this role is $31.06 - $32.25 Per Hour. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

  • Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional noise
  • Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships)
  • Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight
  • Office, warehouse, laboratory, pier side, shipboard
  • Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud
