Functional Safety & Reliability Lead Engineer is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities consider the customers' business and technical needs to provide a quality product that meets the user’s needs. The Technical Risk and reliability discipline executes a robust process, identifies grey areas, and provides full risk and reliability support for the subsea systems and products, project, and tasks management through excellent Risk and reliability management process execution.

The Functional Safety & Reliability Lead Engineer for the subsea production systems group will provide technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders regarding the execution of flowless discipline processes.

As Functional Safety & Reliability Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for:


  • Coordinating and development of functional safety (SIL) roadmap and documents across the engineering groups and customers.
  • Preparing conducting/facilitating, and participating in risk reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, FMECA).
  • Working closely with the allocated project team to deliver and resolve the required reliability analysis (reliability, availability, maintenance).
  • Working closely with BH customers with the ability to provide updates concisely and accurately.
  • Reviewing and understanding of technical scope, requirements, and specifications.
  • Supporting Engineering bid work as required.
  • Being available to travel to global locations when required :10%.
  • Show willingness to support the Technical Assurance team in workload peaks (data scrubbing, reliability analysis on demand).


To be successful in this role you will:


  • Have a background in Engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Have experience in functional safety, particularly with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and implementations.
  • Have attitude for learning new technology, techniques, methods, and principles.
  • Have understanding or willingness to learn fast Subsea architecture and the ability to translate that into the right reliability management process strategy.
  • Have experience delivering projects on both small and large scales.
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have statistical knowledge.
  • Be a fluent English Speaker.
