Job Title: Functional Business Analyst

Location: Montreal, QC

Duration: 5-6 Months Contract

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a functional analyst, you will be embedded into one Platform team each. Your main task is to ensure that any feature that is requested from their respective stakeholders is prepared sufficiently before the Squad commits to delivering it.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirement Readiness – Ensure all features are fully defined, documented, and ready before being assigned to engineering teams.
• Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with Product Owners, Tech Leads, and Solution- and System Architects to clarify requirements for DevOps Engineering Team, resolve ambiguities, and align expectations.
• Technical Feasibility Analysis – Collaborate with technical teams to assess feasibility, dependencies, and potential risks before work begins.
• AWS Platform Understanding – Provide expertise in AWS services, cross-account architectures, and best practices to ensure effective solutioning.
• Version Control & CI/CD Alignment – Work within GitHub-based workflows, ensuring feature readiness aligns with the squad’s DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Cross-Account Systems Management – Understand and document the complexities of multi-account AWS setups, ensuring security, compliance, and interoperability considerations are addressed upfront.
• Backlog Refinement & Prioritization Support – Partner with the Product Owner to refine and prioritize backlog items based on technical and business needs.
• Acceptance Criteria Definition – Ensure clear, testable, and unambiguous acceptance criteria for all features and user stories.
• Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution – Proactively identify and resolve blockers that might prevent smooth feature development.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong AWS Knowledge – Deep understanding of AWS services, cross-account IAM policies, security best practices, networking, and automation.
• Experience with GitHub & DevOps Tooling – Proficiency in GitHub workflows, version control strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Technical & Business Analysis – Ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements and user stories.
• Complex Systems Knowledge – Hands-on experience with multi-account AWS environments and associated governance models.
• Agile & Scrum Practices – Familiarity with Agile methodologies, backlog management, and working within fast-paced platform teams.
• Strong Documentation Skills – Ability to create clear, concise technical documentation that supports developers, testers, and stakeholders.
• Collaboration & Communication – Excellent communication skills to work effectively across teams, ensuring clarity and alignment.
• Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking – Proactively identifying challenges and working with squads to resolve issues before they impact delivery.
• API & System Integration Awareness – Understanding of API-driven architectures and integration patterns across AWS services.
• Experience in Highly Regulated Environments – (Preferred) Experience working in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or go
• nagement skills an asset.
