Partment is the leading proptech in MENA offering hassle-free second home co-ownership. We are bringing down traditional barriers to allow more people to co-own second homes in prime locations at a fraction of the price while providing an end-to-end property management service. To explain further, we divide each property into 8 shares and each share gives the co-owner 41 nights per year to use the property. 

We entirely manage and handle the properties, ensuring their livability and quality over time, so that the only thing left for our customers to do is for them to book their preferred days through our proprietary smart booking system. In summary, we are revolutionizing the way people own, use and invest in vacation homes by combining a transparent, accessible and convenient real estate investment with the fractional ownership of a vacation property. 

The company was founded in 2022 with a successful pre-seed round of $1.5M by a team with experience in business, tech and real estate. Partment is backed by prominent international VCs such as Nclude and Plus VC.

Job Description

At Partment, we consider that the software technology based digital platform is vital to reduce the barrier in terms of discovering, transacting, owning and using the real estate in a frictionless manner. We’re looking for a qualified and experienced full stack software engineer to help us in building scalable digital experience for our customers. The software engineer will have a strong understanding of core web application based technologies spanning across UX and backend software building experience. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will be a quick learner with a strong product minded and carry customer obsession approach in solving business problems using technology based solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and implementation of the overall web architecture
• Worldclass implementation of our approved user interface
• Design and deployment of our database
• Ensuring the entire stack is designed and built for speed and scalability
• Design and construction of our REST API
• Integrating our front-end UI with the backend APIs
• Design and implementation of CI/CD pipeline

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or equivalent. Proficiency in English will be desired and Arabic speaking will be a plus. 
• 3+ years of experience in frontend and backend technologies in building web applications, preferably with e-Commerce, FinTech or SaaS domain.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and team player and excellent writing skills.
• Front-end UX technology: Expertise in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 and third-party libraries such as Next.Js, React.Js, jQuery and LESS, TypeScript.
• Back-end technology: Python Django Rest Framework
• Database and cache: Familiarity with DBMS technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL and caching mechanisms such as Redis, Memcached and Varnish
• Basic UX design ability: Including knowledge of UI/UX and basic quick prototype design.
• Server: Experience working with Nginx with a solid background in Linux.
• Ability to visualize business problems and how that can be translated to a proposed system in addition to building the critical path of the system.
• Cloud native development experience specifically exposure to the AWS ecosystem will be a plus.
