Role Description

SoundEye is expanding its engineering footprint in Southeast Asia! We're looking for a Country Manager to lead our newly established Kuala Lumpur/Petaling Jaya software engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll not only guide technical direction and team culture but also actively contribute to building high-quality mobile and web platforms for global markets like the US, Japan, and Singapore.

• Lead and mentor a small team of software engineers in Malaysia.
• Take ownership of the end-to-end software development lifecycle for both web-based device management systems and mobile applications.
• Actively contribute code to both frontend and backend, while overseeing architecture, code reviews, and releases.
• Manage integration between AWS-hosted backend services (EC2, database) and hospital networks.
• Ensure seamless connectivity and data flow between LASSO devices, web systems, and mobile apps.
• Collaborate with HQ to align product development with business goals in Singapore, Japan, and the US.
• Ensure systems meet security, privacy, and compliance standards across regions.
• Act as the local representative for SoundEye Malaysia, including vendor or partnership interactions.
  

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience across web and mobile platforms.
• Proven experience leading small technical teams.
• Strong proficiency in Python (backend services), JavaScript/React (frontend), and cloud computing (preferably AWS EC2).
• Familiarity with Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification Service, and mobile integration pipelines.
• Comfortable working across Linux servers, API integrations, and managing distributed systems.
