Our full stack developers are at the core of how we build meaningful, modern digital experiences for our members across 13 countries. Whether it’s designing mobile-responsive interfaces, scaling backend services, or integrating with mission-critical platforms, this role plays a vital part in shaping the future of retail technology at PriceSmart.

As a Full Stack Developer, you’ll work across web and mobile-ready platforms to deliver secure, performant, and accessible applications. You’ll contribute to architectural decisions, mentor peers, and collaborate with product, UX, and DevOps teams to create seamless, scalable member experiences.

Responsibilities

System & Feature Development

• Build end-to-end applications across responsive web and mobile platforms using modern frameworks (React.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Translate UX/UI designs into accessible, high-performance interfaces following WCAG standards and mobile-first best practices.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs that connect internal and external systems.

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Contribute to architectural decisions, codebase evolution, and platform-level optimizations.
• Lead conversations around scalability, modular design, caching strategies, and cloud-native development.
• Define and uphold engineering best practices in testing, observability, and CI/CD.

Collaboration & Mentorship

• Partner with cross-functional teams—including product, design, QA, and DevOps—to deliver value quickly and iteratively.
• Mentor peers through code reviews, technical design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement in team delivery and culture.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in full stack development with end-to-end feature delivery.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React.js, and Node.js or similar technologies.
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Strong API design skills with experience in REST and/or GraphQL.
• Experience with responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and modern development workflows.
• English fluency required; Spanish proficiency is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with frameworks such as Next.js, NestJS, or serverless architecture.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code.
• Previous work in e-commerce, logistics, or scalable membership-based platforms.

Additional Information

• A valid passport and availability for occasional business travel may be required.
• Hybrid or remote options available depending on location and team alignment.
