Level: Intern / Junior (0-2 years experience)

Who are we? 🤔

We're Phoenix Labs! A small, agile, and fully remote team building cool stuff using the latest tech. Think slick web apps, smart automation, and leveraging the cloud and AI – all built collaboratively from wherever we work best. We love experimenting, learning fast, and turning bright ideas into reality. If you like playing with tech, have a real eye for good design, and love bringing interfaces to life, you might just fit right in.

What's the gig? 🎯

We're looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our remote crew as a Full Stack Engineer Intern or Junior Developer, with a strong passion for UI/UX ❤️. This is perfect if you're starting out (0-2 years experience) and not only love coding but also care deeply about how things look, feel, and work for the user. You enjoy crafting intuitive experiences, maybe even sketching ideas in Figma, and you value the flexibility of working remotely.

You won't just be coding; you'll be involved in the 'why' and 'how' behind our user interfaces, contributing to real projects from day one.

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing user interfaces and prototypes using Figma, focusing on creating intuitive and visually appealing experiences.
  • Bringing those Figma designs to life by translating them into clean, functional code using React and Next.js.
  • Working on both the pretty front-end parts and connecting them to the functional back-end logic.
  • Getting your hands dirty with cloud services on AWS.
  • Exploring and maybe building automations using tools like n8n and Make.com.
  • Getting a taste of how AI can be integrated into applications.
  • Collaborating effectively with the team in a remote setting – sharing design ideas, discussing user flows, and solving problems together via Slack, calls, etc.
  • Learning. A LOT. About code, design, tools, teamwork, and building software people love to use 😊.

What we're hoping you bring:

  • Some experience (0-2 years – projects, coursework, internships) in web development.
  • A genuine passion for creating great User Interfaces (UI) and User Experiences (UX). You care about the details!
  • Experience or a strong, demonstrable interest in designing with Figma. (Got examples? We'd love to see them!)
  • Good front-end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to actually build the interfaces you help design.
  • Familiarity with React and/or Next.js is a big plus for implementation!
  • Understanding of or interest in backend technologies (e.g., Python, Node.js, .NET).
  • A huge curiosity and eagerness to learn about new technologies like AWS, n8n, Make.com, and AI.
  • Great communication skills, especially important for a remote team!
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage your time effectively while working remotely.
  • You're not afraid to ask questions, share design thoughts, and try things out.
  • Problem-solving attitude – you like figuring out both design and code challenges.

Bonus points if you've:

  • A portfolio showcasing your design work (even better if you built some of it too!).
  • Tinkered with AWS before.
  • Played with automation tools already.
  • Experience with backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Redis, Celery, ASP.NET).
  • Familiarity with the .NET ecosystem.
  • Have an active GitHub profile.
  • Dabbled in AI concepts or projects

Why join Phoenix Labs?

  • Enjoy the flexibility and freedom of a fully remote role!
  • Get hands-on experience across the stack, with a special focus on UI/UX and front-end development using modern tools (Figma, React, Next.js) and exposure to backend technologies.
  • See your designs turn into real, working software!
  • Learn directly from experienced folks in a supportive, remote-first environment.
  • Work on interesting projects where you can shape the user experience.
  • Be part of a small, friendly, and forward-thinking team.
  • It's a fantastic launchpad for your tech career, especially if you love the intersection of design and code!

Sound good?

Send us your CV and a quick, casual note telling us why you're buzzing about this role, especially the UI/UX side and the remote work perk. Seriously wow us with your work! Show us those passion projects, that extra mile you went, the things you're truly proud of. The more effort and personality you put into your application, the more we'll notice – we're looking for folks who are genuinely excited 🔥.

Think of it this way: you're showing a teammate what you can do 😉. Links to your GitHub, design portfolio (Figma links, website, etc.), or any projects that make you shine are highly encouraged! 👍

Note: Put some effort into it and don’t use AI to draft a shiny answer. We will notice as it’s so obvious. If you do, that’s an immediate NO from us.
