Role Overview

We seek a skilled and self-driven Full Stack Developer with expertise in PHP and React to join our growing Belgrade office. You will be responsible for independently delivering high-quality web applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the success of projects for US-based clients. This is a hands-on development role requiring strong technical skills and the ability to work autonomously.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Stack Development: Design, build, and maintain robust web applications using PHP (Laravel or Symfony preferred) on the backend and React.js on the frontend.
• Code Quality: Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code. Participate in code reviews and uphold best practices for software development.
• Independent Execution: Own development tasks from design to deployment with minimal supervision.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers, designers, and QA teams to deliver features and enhancements on schedule.
• Problem Solving: Analyze requirements, propose technical solutions, and troubleshoot complex issues proactively.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and team discussions to improve processes and code quality.
• Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements when appropriate.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in full stack web development, with a strong focus on PHP (Laravel or Symfony) and React.js. Experience working independently on complex projects is highly valued.
• Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, or similar), RESTful APIs, Git workflows, and modern development practices (Docker, CI/CD pipelines a plus). Experience with any of the major Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure...)
• Frontend Skills: Proficiency in building dynamic user interfaces using React, Redux (or Context API), and familiarity with frontend tooling (Webpack, Vite, etc.).
• Backend Skills: Experience designing APIs, handling authentication (OAuth, JWT), and working with MVC frameworks in PHP.
• Bonus Skills: Experience with WordPress (custom plugin/theme development) and/or Shopify platform development is a strong plus.
• Communication: Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively within remote and hybrid teams.
• Mindset: Highly self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing tasks and deadlines.

Selection Process

• Round 1 (Remote): Evaluation of technical skills, experience with PHP/React stack
• Round 2 (Remote): Live coding session and/or technical deep dive interview with the Belgrade technical lead.
• Round 3 (In-Person): Final interview with CMPSE partners. Assessment of independence, team fit, and project experience.
