Job Description

Metrics LLC is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer as we compete for a contract with the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In this role, you will help drive the success of mission-critical initiatives such as the CURE ID program by building, enhancing, and maintaining advanced web and mobile applications that expedite medical research and enable global collaboration. You will work on-site, partnering closely with cross-disciplinary stakeholders, including scientists, informaticians, federal collaborators, and clinical experts, to deliver modern, user-centered solutions that power the next generation of translational science.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain front-end and back-end components for complex web and mobile applications, including the CURE ID platform.
• Lead and execute UI/UX research and design efforts to ensure intuitive, accessible, and high-quality user experiences for both web and mobile users.
• Collaborate with project managers, technical leads, NCATS IFX, FDA stakeholders, and external collaborators to gather requirements, clarify objectives, and deliver tailored technical solutions.
• Implement secure, efficient, and scalable APIs and data integrations to support biomedical, clinical, and scientific workflows.
• Conduct comprehensive application testing and debugging, promptly identifying and documenting bugs and collaborating on resolutions.
• Ensure all deliverables meet security, privacy, and accessibility requirements, including Section 508 compliance.
• Support operations, maintenance, and enhancement efforts, including monitoring application performance and addressing issues for continuous improvement.
• Participate in structured project management processes, providing progress reports, technical documentation, and contributing to stakeholder meetings as needed.
• Demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning, staying up to date with emerging full stack development technologies and best practices.
• Provide user support, training, and troubleshooting to foster adoption and effective use of research applications.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven, hands-on experience developing and maintaining full stack solutions for both web and mobile applications, including front-end (e.g., React, Angular) and back-end (e.g., Node.js, .NET) technologies.
• Demonstrated expertise in UI/UX research and design, with a portfolio of work showcasing user-centric web and/or mobile platforms.
• Strong knowledge of security, privacy, and accessibility standards relevant to federal information systems, including Section 508 compliance and secure application development practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate federal background investigation or security clearance as required for working on government projects.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on federally funded scientific, healthcare, or clinical research informatics projects.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and collaborative project management methodologies.
• Experience in stakeholder-driven application enhancement, working with multidisciplinary teams to define and deliver new features.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling successful collaboration across highly technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.
