[OPENING] Full-Stack AI Developer Intern – Universa AI Lab

UNIVERSA AI Lab is looking for a Full-Stack AI Developer Intern to join us remotely. You’ll help bring our AI research and prototypes to life by building user-facing applications and deploying models in real-world environments.

About Universa AI Lab

Universa AI Lab is the research and innovation arm of Universa AI, dedicated to exploring ambitious frontiers in artificial intelligence. We focus on building intelligent systems that can reason, interact, and support humans in meaningful ways, spanning areas like Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Vision-Language Models, and Human-AI Collaboration.

We're a small, agile, and globally distributed team of researchers and engineers working remotely, yet closely. Our projects bridge scientific research and real-world deployment, with applications in education, healthcare, social good, and digital well-being. One of our flagship initiatives is the Artificial Guardian Angel (AGA), a framework for building trustworthy, always-on AI companions.

What You’ll Do

• Build interactive front-end interfaces for AI prototypes (e.g., using React, Next.js, Tailwind)
• Develop scalable back-end services to support model inference and API integration
• Deploy AI models (LLMs, vision-language, etc.) using tools like FastAPI, Docker, or cloud platforms
• Collaborate with researchers and AI engineers to make R&D tools accessible
• Help maintain internal dashboards or demo tools for live experiments

Preferred Skills

• Experience with full-stack development (React, Node.js/Express or Python-based backends)
• Familiarity with deploying AI models using PyTorch, Hugging Face, or similar frameworks
• Comfortable working with RESTful APIs and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Hugging Face Spaces)
• Basic understanding of Docker, CI/CD, or web hosting tools
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (our main work language)

Work Details

• Remote position based in Asia/Europe/North America (we follow Central European Timezone schedules)
• Flexible hours, but availability for team syncs and async updates is expected
• This internship is unpaid initially, but after up to 1 month, there may be a chance to transition into a paid role based on your dedication and contributions

Bonus Points For

• Prior experience integrating AI models into real apps (chatbots, vision tools, etc.)
• Experience using tools like FastAPI, LangChain, Hugging Face Inference Endpoints
• Passion for building usable tools, ethical AI, and collaborative R&D environments
