Role Overview

We are looking for a talented and motivated Frontend Dev to join our team. You will play a key role in contributing to scalable software solutions using React and TypeScript. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle - from concept to deployment. Collaborating with product managers, designers, and backend engineers, you will help deliver high-quality, intuitive, and efficient user experiences.

Note: this role is a 6-month contract to start with the potential to extend and/or convert to full-time.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development and creative teams to ideate software solutions
• Develop and maintain scalable, high-quality frontend applications and components using React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Work with REST APIs to integrate frontend with backend services.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability and maintainability.
• Optimize frontend performance to ensure a smooth user experience across devices and browsers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and industry standards.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability of the web applications.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure the team maintains high-quality coding standards.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest frontend technologies, tools, and best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
• Attend and participate in daily scrums, sprint planning, backlog grooming sessions and retrospectives

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in frontend development.
• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript, as well as HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience working with Next.js or similar frameworks
• Experience working with UI frameworks such as Chakra UI, Tailwind or similar
• Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand or Context API.
• Experience with writing unit and integration tests for frontend applications.
• Experience working with REST APIs
• Familiarity with commonly used databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB, Postgres) and web servers (e.g. Apache)
• Solid understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience integrating with Contentful or similar headless content platforms are a plus
• Experience with task tracking tools such as Jira is a plus
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
