Who We Are

MedBioinformatics Solutions is a spin-off from the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM) and the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) that provides products and services to unlock the potential of genomics for healthcare and drug R&D.

We have extensive experience in developing solutions in knowledge management, text mining and systems medicine to support applications in precision medicine, drug R&D and in silico toxicology.

Our flagship product DISGENET is a knowledge platform on disease genomics that unlocks the potential of genomics for precision medicine and drug R&D applications.

Our offices are located in Barcelona (Plaza Cataluña) with easy access by public transportation.

Who We're Looking For

We're expanding our software team to incorporate a Front-End Developer.

The candidate will support our team in developing and maintaining the web infrastructure of the Saas platform DISGENET. We perfom quarterly updates to the underlying databases and review ongoing feature developments in an isolated test environment.

In particular, the candidate should have experience in developing interactive web-based data visualizations, including interactive charts and graphs, using a JS framework such as C3.js, D3.js, etc.

What You’ll Do

● Design, implement and maintain user interfaces with modern JavaScript frameworks like React.

● Duties include designing, implementing, and maintaining complex visualizations using modern JavaScript libraries (like D3.js and derivative libraries)

● Continuous delivery best practices for code build and deployments

● Expertise in responsive layout, mobile device optimization, and cross-browser testing

● A good sense of design and an eye for detail

What you'll Need

3-5 years experience in:

● Modern JavaScript UI development experience using frameworks like React, Angular, Vue, etc.

● Experience with Git (preferred) or a similar version control technology.

You're expected to be

● Comfortable working in a start-up environment, where a pragmatic, resourceful, well-organized, and effective approach is required with limited resources

● Hands-on, have a decisive approach and a proven ability to work both independently and as a team player

● Have a high level of self-management and organizational skills
