The Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Front-End Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable design systems ensuring consistency and adherence to architectural standards. Collaborate with cross functional teams to evaluate emerging front-end technologies and provide technical oversight and support development with the best practices. Communicate solutions and status updates effectively to stakeholders while troubleshooting complex issues and championing technical change initiatives. Key Responsibilities and Qualifications: * Creates and oversees the architectural design of design systems ensuring accessibility scalability and consistency across medium to large sized projects, with a focus on web components and atomic design systems. * Ensures the frontend architecture is communicated, understood and adhered to by the design and development teams. * Works on multiple frontend projects managing time effectively while proactively assessing risk and dependencies specific to frontend technologies. * Partners with peer architects on large projects to provide ongoing frontend architecture oversight throughout the development lifecycle. * Evaluates and recommends emerging trends in frontend design and development strategies assessing their applicability in the design system environment. * Evaluates and makes recommendations for build versus buy decisions specifically for frontend libraries and tools. * Ensure consistency with frontend architectural standards for assigned projects. * Writes design specifications and other technical documentation focused on frontend components and design system usage. * Demonstrates design and technology approaches via frontend prototypes to validate concepts and solutions. * Acts as an expert in frontend technology domains such as React Angular or Vue.js. * Troubleshoots and resolves complex frontend problems and technical issues taking a holistic and preventive perspective across systems and technologies. * Supports and champions frontend technical change initiatives ensuring alignment with design system goals. * Identifies technical risks in front-end projects and supports mitigation efforts. * Communicates frontend solutions and technical designs to business unit executives' technology management peers and development staff. * Collaborates in setting front-end development guidelines and best practices for the design system. * Reviews frontend technical designs to ensure compliance with standards and design system principles. Salary and Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until June 14th, 2025. The annual salary for this position is between $90,000 - $141,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
