About Avtal, Inc. Avtal is a venture-backed startup working to make debt collection more humane and productive. Debt collection agencies have historically collected through physical mail and call centers. Changing consumer preferences and new regulation have paved the way for digital collection. We manage collection from outreach to payment. We text and emails consumers with a link to a pay portal we host. Consumers can enroll in payment plans, accept discount offers on their debt, and dispute their debt. About the role The role is hybrid 3-4 days per week in the office in Austin, TX. You will report directly to the CTO and be responsible for increasing the amount we collect for our clients. What you'll do You will build and improve our consumer portal and agency portal. Our consumer portal is what the consumer sees when they click on a link in an sms or email. This lets them make one-time payments, enroll in flexible payment plans, and accept settlement offers. The admin portal is the software the agency uses to handle reporting, reconciliation, and permissions. Qualifications 2+ years of software engineering experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related STEM field Desire to work in person in Austin Excellent problem solving skills Excellent work ethic Ability to work in the US with no restrictions Nice to have: Go, Javascript, ReactJS, Mantine experience
