We are a newly formed, Qatar-based startup developing a finance-related digital platform with regulatory alignment in mind. The project is currently in stealth mode and undergoing development for a minimum viable product (MVP), with structured sprints and high-impact deliverables. The role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to a lean, fast-moving team working on a real-world product with long-term scaling potential.

We are seeking a Fractional CTO to lead and oversee the technical strategy, infrastructure design, and sprint execution of our MVP (mobile + web portal). The ideal candidate will balance execution with foresight, ensuring our development practices align with Qatar Central Bank (QCB) sandbox compliance and future scalability. You will guide front-end, back-end, and QA efforts while keeping the product launch-ready and secure.

• Architect the MVP backend, infrastructure, and API structure
• Oversee front-end/back-end integration across 40+ screens
• Define and enforce code quality, Git workflows, and sprint delivery
• Ensure security, uptime, and data protection align with QCB sandbox criteria
• Interface with QCB if required on technical compliance matters
• Review infrastructure decisions (e.g., Azure Qatar, containerization)
• Mentor and supervise internal dev and QA resources
• Ensure all tech documentation is sandbox-ready and audit-friendly

• 5+ years in backend or full-stack architecture
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, APIs, and secure authentication
• Experience launching MVPs (startups or regulated sectors preferred)
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, versioning, and test automation
• Capable of guiding a dev team in high-velocity sprint cycles
• Fluent in English; ability to communicate risk clearly and tactically

• Prior experience working with or reporting to central banks
• Familiarity with QCB sandbox standards or similar regulatory tech audits
• Technical comfort with Node.js, Flutter/React, PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of bilingual/RTL systems (Arabic/English)
